My Guaranteed Two-Step Plan to Help You Rebuild Your Credit.

People are always saying to me, "Steve if I get out of this mess I'll never use another credit card for as long as I live." Nice to hear, but you'd be surprised to learn that's a big mistake.

We live in a society that makes important decisions based on your credit score. These decisions impact the amount you'll pay for mortgages or car loans. They even impact your ability to get home and car insurance and how much you'll pay for the policy.

If you have financial problems and then swear off credit, your credit history is just bad stuff and then you fall off the face of the earth.

It's not the credit card that got you in trouble, it was accessing credit and using money that you were not able to repay that really digs the financial grave.

I can't stick my head in the sand and pretend that credit offers are not coming your way on a regular basis. Rather than guess at what to do I've put together this page to help you weed through the plethora of offers.

This page is for people that have had credit problems in the past, or are currently going through financial problems and are looking to start building a good credit history right now. It does not matter if you have filed bankruptcy, have accounts in collection or have liens, judgments or garnishments against you. This plan is foolproof.

Step 1

Building a good credit history is basically a two-step process. The first step is to get a copy of your credit report and look it over for errors or old open accounts you may have forgotten about that needs some attention. You can get your credit report online by using the link below. And speaking of credit reports, only get a consolidated report that shows all three credit bureaus on one report. You absolutely need to compare the credit reports side by side and when they are all in the same format, as in a consolidated report, it makes it 500% easier to read and work with. This is the exact type of report I insist on getting for me. Don't delay one minute, get your credit report right now.

Step 2

You can and should launch into step two right now also. You should get at least two new credit cards and use them but make sure you absolutely pay the bill off every month. When you carry a balance you become a slave to the creditors.

If you've had some credit accidents or nobody will give you a card. I'm a huge fan of the stored value cards below. These cards have an optional Credit Builder program and if you participate the bank will report your card activity to the credit bureaus and that's exactly what you want to do. Be sure to participate in the cards credit builder program for maximum benefit.

In addition a stored value card is completely safe for you to use without any worries about getting in over your head. The way they work is simple and safe. You load funds onto the card and that is your credit limit. You can't spend more than the funds on the card so you are not actually using creditor's money, you are using your own.

Think about how great this is. You have a major credit card in your name to rebuild your credit and no worries about paying the bill. I love it.
